Therapy for Children, Young People & Families

Our specialist Children & Young Person’s Associate Therapists are able to offer evidence-based Psychotherapy for individuals between the ages of 3 and 18 and for families. Our skilled therapists are able to offer:

Drawing and Talking Therapy

Drawing and Talking Therapy is a twelve-week attachment-based therapeutic intervention, which allows individuals to discover and communicate their emotional difficulties or experiences through a non-directed technique. For children, adults, parents/carers and grandparents, this intervention will help you to heal and find your own resolutions to traumatic experiences/events, anxiety and underlying emotional difficulties.

Support for Behavioural difficulties

Our tailored intervention is specifically crafted to aid parents and caregivers in effectively managing a spectrum of behaviours, including defiant, challenging, developmental, neurodivergent, and emotional tendencies in their children. We offer comprehensive support, encompassing psychoeducation, insights into common “parent traps,” and the implementation of structured routines and positive behaviour management strategies. Our goal is to foster your child’s growth, learning, independence, and self-regulation. Grounded in evidence derived from social learning, behaviour principles, attachment theories, and the latest parenting research, this intervention equips parents/carers to communicate more effectively with their children and nurture positive family relationships.

Support for Parents of Teenagers

Empowering parents and caregivers to navigate the intricate dynamics of family relationships during the teenage years. Our intervention not only imparts valuable insights into neuroscience, teenage development, and understanding adolescent relationships in contemporary society but also equips parents to effectively support their children through this crucial phase. We focus on assisting parents in managing challenging behaviours, fostering an environment of understanding, and implementing tailored routines and strategies that encourage growth, learning, independence, and self-confidence in their teens. Furthermore, our approach places a strong emphasis on enhancing communication between parents/carers and their children, fostering positive family relationships that endure beyond the challenges of adolescence.

Supporting Anxiety & Worry

Our evidence-based interventions are crafted to assist parents and caregivers in comprehending and addressing worry and anxiety affecting their child’s daily life. This encompasses issues such as social and school avoidance, safety behaviours, sleep and eating difficulties, and friendship challenges. Through a comprehensive approach, our interventions offer psychoeducation, practical strategies, and techniques. We also provide tailored home activities designed to effectively manage and alleviate the impact of anxiety on both your child’s well-being and the overall harmony of your family life.
